What a week, what a week. I was talking recently about the internet, and how very large it is, and how that's a bad thing. Because I may as well be obsessive compulsive when it comes to my social networks. That said, Facebook reinstated my account, I tried Twitter and liked it, and I'm addicted to Stumbleupon. (All cleverly linked, in case you live in a cave) I was weak. :(


Twitter's not bad, although to use it for much more than documenting things online as you discover them--ex It was used recently as people watched the press conference in Georgia about a 'bigfoot body' that was 'found'--unless you have a cellphone or ipod with which constantly to update it with what you are doing as Penny Arcade so profoundly demonstrated: 'Ok, the poop is coming out.'

Stumbleupon is awesome. I've found quite a few amazing websites with it, such as Breathing Earth and We Feel Fine.

Now, as you may recall the good people at Facebook deleted my account. Previously it was required that all minor members of the social site be currently enrolled in a high school. The way this was enforced, (for minors a high school network was a requirement while signing up) home schoolers were effectively banned from the place.

Well apparently this has been remedied, as I went to prove to someone that I couldn't join the other day, and found that they had reinstated my account without notifying me... So I've started using it again in spite of myself. I am told that networks are being phased out, and that's as likely a reason as any other for the sudden change of heart.

I wish I could organize my tags here on livejournal. They are so rowdy. :(
